Map & Itinerary

In the itinerary, we will take you to see two origins of Chinese Kungfu - the Shaolin Temple in Henan and Mt. Wudang in Hubei. Have a chance to watch martial arts performance and learn some basic move of Kongfu from the local masters. An exciting journey through the mainland of China that combines all the highlights of this wonderful country.

Holiday Itinerary

  • ARRIVAL BEIJING

    You will be met at the airport by our guide and transferred to a hotel in central Beijing. Today you will have an opportunity to rest and recover from the long flight.

  • BEIJIKNG HIGHLIGHTS

    After breakfast, we will go to see the local people doing their morning exercises and join them to learn Taiji from the master in Temple of Heaven. Tai Chi, or Taijiquan in China, is an outstanding gem of traditional Chinese culture that is valuable in promoting health, developing combat and self-defence skills, and improving concentration and overall well-being.

    Then we will visit the Temple of Heaven. Temple of Heaven was the venue for the Ming and Qing emperors to offer sacrifices to the Heaven and pray for harvest. This temple was built in the 18th year during the reign of the Ming Emperor Yongle in 1420.

    After have one hour visit in Panjiayuan Antique Market, go to a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch. Then we will drive to Tian’anmen Square, which is the biggest central square in the world and is located in the center of the Beijing city. Here you could see the Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Mausoleum and the national flag raising and lowering ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. After that follow in the footsteps of emperors, court ministers and eunuchs and head south to the magnificent and colorful Forbidden City. Forbidden City Beijing, also called Imperial Palace Museum, is located in the very heart of Beijing. It remained the residence of the emperors for nearly five hundred years, from the 15th century to the early 20th century, and was the actual and symbolic seat of imperial power. Popularly known as the Forbidden City, it was built in the Ming Dynasty between the 4th and the 18th years of the Yongle period (1406 - 1420 AD). Many of the buildings of the Palace have been repaired and rebuilt, but their basic form and layout remain in their original state.

    Go to Jingshan Park to enjoy a bird view of the Forbidden City. Visit Hutong neighborhood, dumpling making and lunch at a Hutong family’s house.

  • BEIJING HIGHLIGHTS

    Today, we will first go to visit the Capital Museum, This afternoon, we will transfer to visit Summer Palace. Summer Palace located in a northwestern suburb of Beijing, it is an immense park containing some Chinese traditional architecture and arts. It was built and served as a royal garden during the Qing Dynasty. It exhibits the quintessence of the Chinese classical landscape gardening. The halls, the pavilions, the corridors, the pagodas, the bridges and the water were elaborately arranged. The long Corridor is one of the most exquisite structures in the garden. It is over 700 meters long and decorated with thousands of Chinese traditional paintings. At the end travel back to the city to enjoy a delicious Peking Duck dinner - the capital's most famous dish. Once imperial cuisine, now the legendary duck dish is served at restaurants around the world.

    This evening we will go to watch a Chinese opera performance.

  • BEIJING - LONGQUANYU - XIAOXIHU

    We will go to Huiling Community Services, making dumpling or learn how to cook China dishes with children (based on the number of participants). Beijing Huiling Community Services for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities seeks to improve the lives of the mentally disabled. Through community-based activities, BJHL facilitates trainees' independence and teaches life skills. At here, our students will have a chance to share their life experience with these children.

    After lunch, we will drive about 2 hours to the village named Longquanyu to enjoy a fairly easy walk experience. The hike is through a stunning steep-sided gorge. Towards the end of the walk you will reach the lake of Xiao Xi Hu with breathtaking views of the Great Wall. During the hike, an interesting activity – Untie the Knot. Students will all be attached to a single rope and must work together to untie a messy knot in the middle, weaving themselves in and out of the tangled rope to do so.

    And when we arrive at the end point of today’s hike, we will walk cross the scenic spot to tonight’s lodging place.

  • HUANGHUACHENG - XIAOGUAI - GUBEIKOU

    After breakfast, we will take 2hrs drive to Baihe Natural Rock Climbing Cliff ( also called Xiaoguai) where is one of the best places in Beijing to go rock climbing on natural cliffs. Both sides of the Baihe River Valley are steep and ideal for climbing. This morning, we will do a rock climbing challenge under special guidance of professional rock climbing coach.

    After a simple lunch box, drive to Gubeikou section of the Great Wall.

    Upon arrival, we will directly trek 2hrs to tonight’s camping site. Today’s hike will take us to a military area along the Wall, which we must bypass. We will take a pleasant diversion to a friendly village where will be our tonight’s camping site.

    At 18:00pm, we will start our tonight’s BBQ dinner and bonfire party which will be arranged at the yard of local guest house.

  • CAMPSITE - GUBEIKOU - JINSHANLING - GUBEI WATER TOWN

    We will be up before sunrise to catch the sun throwing soft morning light onto the Wall itself, great for pictures! Simple breakfast will be followed, then we will continue to hike from our camping site eastward to Jinshanling section of Great Wall. The panoramic view is wonderful – partway along the hike. After a 2.5 hours hike, we will arrive at Shayukou Tower, you could down to the bottom of Jinshanling Great Wall through a mountain path. From here, for the participants with good physical strength, they could continue to hike 2.5hrs eastward to Erchu ( Wuyan tower), where we could enjoy a good view of Simatai Great Wall and overlook the surrounding. Then we will down to meet the driver in the parking lot at the bottom of Jinshanling. A short drive will take us to Gubei Watertown at the bottom of Simatai Great Wall.

    Gubei Water Town is situated in Gubei Township of Miyun County northeast of Beijing, hence the name of Gubei Water Town. It has a charming location with a massive backdrop of the world famous Simatai Great Wall, accompany of the romantic Yuanyang Lake ( Mandarin Duck ) and the ancient Simatai Village that was developed from Simatai Castle built during the reign of Emperor Wanli ( 1573 -1620 ) in Ming Dynasty ( 1368 – 1644 ). So the Gubei Water Town resort is a rare combo of Great Wall, Mountains, Lakes and Ancient Villages.

    Check in the guest house and have a short rest, tonight we will have a chance to visit evening Simatai Great Wall.

  • GUBEI WATER TOWN - LUOYANG

    Orienteering and treasure hunting in the water town to build teamwork, try new things, and explore areas of interest in Gubei Water Town. And we will walk to a workshop to learning tie-dye or wood sculpture drawing with veteran craftsmen.

    After a farewell lunch, drive to Beijing West Railway Station, take a high-speed train to Luoyang. You will be picked up by local guide at the exit of train station and transfer to the hotel.

  • LUOYANG - DENGFENG

    After breakfast, we will start to explore this cultural city of Luoyang. Enjoy your full day city visit that covers the most classic sites here of Longmen Grottos which overwhelmingly depicts Buddhist subjects, are densely dotted along the two mountains. Then have a visit to Luoyang Museum of Folk Customs, realizing the local culture and walk along Minng & Qing Old Town, exploring the history of this ancient city.

    In the late afternoon, take a 1.5-2hrs drive to Dengfeng, check in the hotel.

    Learn Zen culture and Kungfu from the Shaolin monks. In the afternoon, visit the famous Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest. Shaolin Temple is a world famous Buddhist temple in China, famous for Chinese Kung Fu or Martial Arts and the Zen Buddhism wide-spread in East Asia. During the visit, we will watch a spicy show of Shaolin Kungfu.

  • DENGFENG - XI’AN

    Walk up in the early morning, do morning lessons with Shaolin monks, have breakfast with monks (vegetarian diet). After breakfast, sweep the temple, then continue to learn  Shaolin Kungfu with masters

    After lunch, transfer back to Luoyang, take a high-speed train to Xi’an. Your local guide will pick you up at the exit of train station, then drie to the hotel and check in.

  • XI'AN

    After breakfast, we will drive to visit the magnificent Qin Terra-cotta Army. It was built in about 2500 years ago and contains more than 6000 warriors, soldiers and horses. UNESCO listed it in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. In the afternoon, drive back to Xian city; Followed by a stroll with our guide in the Muslim Quarter and the visit to the Big Mosque, where the way of life is markedly different from the traditions of the Han Chinese. For over 1,300 years, since the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618 - 907), Muslims have been an integral part of daily life inXi'an, the beginning of theSilk Road. 

    Enjoy Chinese Dumpling feast with Tang Dynasty dancing show in the evening.

  • XI'AN - MT. WUDANG

    After breakfast, begins our tour with a bicycle ride along the Ancient City Wall, the most complete city wall in China. The original foundation was based on the ruins of the Imperial City Wall of Chang’an City, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, known today asXi’an. Though the wall has been entirely renovated, it still resonates with history. Then visit Shannxi History Museum. The Shanxi History Museum's permanent exhibition primarily displays Shaanxi's ancient history. Representative pieces from all periods have been selected to show the development of civilization in this region.

    After lunch, take about 4.5hrs drive to Mt. Wudang, another origin of Chinese Kung Fu, especially for its Taichi Quan, to continue your exploration. Stay in hotel at the foot of the mountain.

  • MT. WUDANG

    The local guide pick up from your hotel at the foot and start the exploration of Mt Wudang. Take green van into the scenic area, then take cable car up to the top of Mt. Wudang.

    Visit Zixiao Temple and Nanyan Temple considered the most spectacular of Wudang three famous temples. Have lunch at local restaurant on the mountain

    Explore and hiking on the top of Mt. Wudang as you like in the afternoon escorted by our local tour guide.

    Get up early in the morning, you can enjoy the fresh air veil the mountain and learn some basic move of Taichi Chuan with the local masters. Drive to Shiyan City and take D-train (about 4 hours) to Wuhan in the afternoon..

  • WUHAN-SHANGHAI

    Have leisure morning for you to pack and check out. The guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to have a glimpse of Wuhan. Take a visit to the Yellow Crane Tower. As one of the symbols of the Wuhan city, the Yellow Crane Tower is standing on the top of the Snake Hill. The Yellow Crane Tower is closely associated with its surroundings, in other words, the beauty of the tower is inseparable from its natural environment. Combining the classic poetry and modern beauty, the Yellow Crane Tower reflects the Chinese traditional customs of climbing mountains and getting close to the nature. Ascending to the Yellow Crane Tower, we can enjoy the fantastic scenery of Wuhan city and the mighty Yangtze River.

    After lunch, take an afternoon flight to Shanghai. Picked up by the local guide and check in the hotel.

    After breakfast, the local guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby at about 9 am. Today activities include visit Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, The Bund, and go shopping on your own in the late afternoon.

    Shanghai Museum: Shanghai Museum used to be near the Bund. It is now situated in People's Square and its new buildings were built in 1996, designed by a Shanghai architect named Xing Tonghe. The new design symbolizes China's ancient understanding of the world: round sky and square earth. The museum has a circular roof and rectangular base. It stores 120,000 precious artifacts, which narrate a story of China's 5,000-year civilization.

    Yu Garden is one of the most famous gardens in China and is national heritage listed. It was built in 1559 and extended in 1577. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. It's named after the original owner.

    The Bund: Also called the Zhongshan Road, is a Famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. It was the Centre of Shanghai’s politics, economy and culture hundreds of years ago, consulates of most countries and many banks, bus nesses and newspaper offices were settled there.

1. Before you pay deposit to book the tour, we haven’t made any reservation yet. The train, flight tickets and the hotel may different from the itinerary listed.

2. The visiting order of the scenic spots in the itinerary may change according to the traffic condition and other unforeseen things.

3. Tourist insurance is a must before going, please provide us the confirmation of insurance company when sign up.

The price includes

1. Entrance Fees: to scenic spots as listed in the itinerary

2. All the activities fee mentioned in the itinerary: Hutong rickshaw in Beijing; Sichuan Opera show in Chengdu;

3. Private Transfers: Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing during the trip by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver.

4. Meals: All meals as indicated in the itinerary (B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner), include Peking duck dinner in Beijing; Hot pot dinner in Chengdu.

5. Guide: As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available

Payment conditions

To confirm your reservation, you must pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount due via the payment link that your local agent will share. The balance is due 30 days prior to departure. The quoted exchange rate is valid for the next 7 days – if the deposit is not paid within this time, the quote will be re-calculated.

Terms and conditions for cancelation

i. Cancellation of the Tour by CAT (local agent):

CAT reserve the right to cancel the postpone tour at any time up to the date final payment is due under the following condition: in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. And in this case, all money paid by the participants will be refunded. If the tour is postponed, CAT will offer all those who have signed up the opportunity to have the same tour for a later time, but the price may be changed according to the season. We will notify you of any change, and give you a reasonable period

of time to make your decision. Consumers may, but are under no obligation to, take the tour under these new terms. After final payment has been made, we may cancel the tour only if, in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. Since cancellation in this case involves factors which may arise suddenly and are entirely outside our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest and epidemic disease, we cannot guarantee a full refund in this case. This is because payment will already have been made to finalize the arrangements and reservation.

ii. Cancellation of the Tour by Consumer:

Any cancellation must be made by sending an email to the local agent. The cancellation fee varies according to how many days prior to departure the cancellation is made:

   ·  More than 30 days prior to departure: 5% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 30 and 22 days prior to departure: 25% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 21 and 8 days prior to departure: 50% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 7 and 3 days prior to departure: 75% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Less than 3 days prior to departure and after the departure date: 100% of the total holiday cost

All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective upon receipt by CAT. No refund will be made to those participants who break the journey regardless of the portions of the package unused. If, owing to serious illness or injury, the participant withdraws from the tour, a refund will be subject to the consent of the local travel agent.

No refund will be made to those participants who have failed to secure valid travel documents such as passport or visas.
