Yunnan, the ideal holiday destination in China, enjoys a perfect combination of amazing natural scenery, diverse ethnic customs, and pleasant climate all year round. Over 25 of China`s ethnic minority groups reside here, providing a colorful salad of China`s mixed culture. Minorities in Yunnan have long illustrious history intriguing to people home and abroad. From the snow mountains to the tropical rainforests, from the highland lakes to the canyons, from the historic cities to the fascinating rural sceneries, Yunnan is blessed with beautiful landscapes. 

This 4-day tour includes the special visiting to local schools in the poverty-stricken mountain area of Kunming. We will have chance to know about the local students` study life by having classes, games, eating etc. together!

Holiday Itinerary

  • BEIJING - KUNMING BY FLIGHT

    Activities: Yunnan Crossing the bridge noodles dinner, Dynamic Yunnan show

    12:30-13:30 Arrive in the Kunming Airport by flight from Beijing, be picked up by the tour guide.

    13:30-13:40 Transfer to a nearby restaurant.

    13:40-14:30 Lunch at the restaurant.

    14:30-15:30 Transfer to Kunming World Youth Academy in Chenggong.

    15:30-17:00 Take the activities in Kunming World Youth Academy (Clients will own arrange the activities with school).  

    17:00-18:30 Transfer to Kunming city, check in your hotel;

    18:30-19:30 Dinner to try the local famous crossing bridge rice noodle.

    19:30-20:00 Transfer to the theater.

    20:00-21:30 Enjoy the Dynamic Yunnan show. 

    21:30-22:20 Transfer and overnight in Kunming hotel.

  • KUNMING-NUONEI VILLAGE - STONE FOREST COUNTRY

    Activities: farm work, enjoy the performance “Drilling wood to make fire”, learn to play “Dasanxun” and Sanni embroidery, enjoy the long street banquet dinner, participate in the bonfire party.

    07:30-08:00 Get up.

    08:00-08:30 Have breakfast at hotel.

    08:30-10:00: Drive to the Nuonei Village.

    10:00-10:30: Upon arrival, welcome ceremony by the local Yi people.

    10:30-12:30:

    a. have a discussion meeting with the local villagers to know about the history of this village, the traditional culture of the Yi people , the daily life status of the local villagers.

    b. have a visit of the stone tiles-roof house of Yi People and the local Farm museum in the village.

    12:30-13:30: Have the special Yi style lunch.

    13:30-15:00: Help the local people to do the farm work such as how to ferment the fertilize for sowing, dinning, and how to planting tobacco or corn.

    15:00-15:30: Enjoy the performance “Drilling wood to make fire”.

    15:30-18:00: Culture exchange.

    a. learn how to play “Dasanxun”.

    b. learn the “Sanni embroidery”.

    18:00-19:00: Enjoy the long street banquet dinner with the local people.

    19:30-21:00: Participate in the bonfire party, dancing around the camp fire with the local people.

    21:00-21:30: Transfer to Stone Forest country for overnight.

  • STONE FOREST COUNTRY - BAIJIANG MIDDLE SCHOOL - KUNMING

    Activities: visiting Baijiang Middle School of Stone Forest country, have the tour of Stone Forest park.

    07:30-08:00 Get up.

    08:00-08:30  Have breakfast at hotel.

    08:30-09:30  Drive to Bajiang Middle School of Stone Forest country.

    09:30-10:00 After the simple welcoming ceremony of Bajing Middle school, then have a visiting of school building to know about the local daily school life under the accompanied with the Baijiang middle school student representatives.

    10:00-11:00  Class exchange to have 2 classes in the School Auditorium:

    a. the Bajiang middle school : the local nationality teacher will teach a class about the local language and culture.

    b. World Youth Academy: the teacher or students from World Youth Academy have a class for the local student representatives (the theme of class will be arranged by World Youth Academy).

    11:00-12:00  The representatives of 2 schools will have a friendship basketball match.

    12:00-13:00  Lunch at dining room of the school.

    14:00-16:00  Have the tour of Stone Forest park.

    16:00-17:30  transfer back to Kunming downtown.

    18:00-19:00  dinner at restaurant.

    19:00-19:30  transfer back to check in hotel in Kunming.

    Activities: Yunnan Nationalities Village for the “ Mission Impossible” Game

    07:30-08:00 Have breakfast.

    08:00-09:00 Transfer to Yunnan Nationalities Village.

    09:00-11:30 Move to visit Yunnan Nationalists Village for the “ Mission Impossible” Game.

    Remark: the whole group formed into 5 teams (6 persons in one team) to finish 5 tasks within 2.5hours) Each team will get a mission card once finish the mission, the team who finish all 5 tasks in the shortest time is the winner of the game.  

    [Missions Introduction:]

      1) Find a local person --Mr. Wang in the main square

    A local person in the photo wandering in the street waiting for you to find him out! The time limited for this task is 20 minutes and the watchword for you to find this right person is “Q: Are you Mr. Wang ? A: Enjoy the journey!”. A team photo with this person is required after the task.

      2) Naxi village: Interpret words in hieroglyphic

    Nanxi people has its own ancient characters originated from hieroglyphic. Can you understand this words in hieroglyphic? Please complete your interpretation of this sentence from hieroglyphic into Chinese.  Please take a team photo of a pose with ancient characters.  

      3) Lahu village: Learn Cross-bow shooting 

    To learn cross-bow shooting at Lahu Village. Task of this village is that each team need 3 students to shoot the red bull’s eye.

      4) Yi village: Looking for Yi Totem--- Tiger element

    Tiger is the totem of Yi people, please find and take picture with the 3 difference image of Tiger in the village and show the picture to the staff to get the mission card. 

      5) Wa village -- to play peg-top in Wa village

    To learn play peg-top and keep the top running 2 minutes to finish the task.

    11:30-12:00  Transfer to local restaurant. 

    12:00-13:00  Winning awarding ceremony and have lunch at restaurant. 

    13:30-14:30  Transfer to Kunming airport for your departure flight back to Beijing at 16:15pm.

Additional details

1. Before you pay deposit to book the tour, we haven’t made any reservation yet. The train, flight tickets and the hotel may different from the itinerary listed.

2. The visiting order of the scenic spots in the itinerary may change according to the traffic condition and other unforeseen things.

3. Tourist insurance is a must before going, please provide us the confirmation of insurance company when sign up.

The price includes

1. Entrance Fees: to scenic spots as listed in the itinerary

2. All the activities fee mentioned in the itinerary: Hutong rickshaw in Beijing; Sichuan Opera show in Chengdu;

3. Private Transfers: Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing during the trip by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver.

4. Meals: All meals as indicated in the itinerary (B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner), include Peking duck dinner in Beijing; Hot pot dinner in Chengdu.

5. Guide: As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available

6. Hotel: hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with king-size bed. All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast

7. Internal flights
** Day 01/   Flight from Beijing to Kunming (based on economy class);
** Day 04/   Flight from Kunming to Beijing (based on economy class);

8. Arrangements: the tour cost includes planning, handling, operational and communication charges

9. Travel Agency Liability insurance

The price does not include

1. International airfare or train tickets to enter or leave China

2. China entry visa fees

3. Excess baggage charges

4. The medicine for the sickness or accident while on the way

5. Personal expenses: expenses of a purely personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone calls, optional activities, sightseeing or meals which are not included in the tour itinerary

6. Meals: any meals which are not specified in the tour itinerary

7. Single room supplement

8. Please notice that the price will be much higher during the festival of Labors’ Day, National Day, spring festival

9. Tips to tour guide and driver (recommended USD10-15/guest/day).

10. Tourist accident insurance. NB - you are strongly suggested to buy travel and health insurance before you start out from your home country.

Payment conditions

To confirm your reservation, you must pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount due via the payment link that your local agent will share. The balance is due 30 days prior to departure. The quoted exchange rate is valid for the next 7 days – if the deposit is not paid within this time, the quote will be re-calculated.

Terms and conditions for cancelation

i. Cancellation of the Tour by CAT (local agent):

CAT reserve the right to cancel the postpone tour at any time up to the date final payment is due under the following condition: in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. And in this case, all money paid by the participants will be refunded. If the tour is postponed, CAT will offer all those who have signed up the opportunity to have the same tour for a later time, but the price may be changed according to the season. We will notify you of any change, and give you a reasonable period

of time to make your decision. Consumers may, but are under no obligation to, take the tour under these new terms. After final payment has been made, we may cancel the tour only if, in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. Since cancellation in this case involves factors which may arise suddenly and are entirely outside our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest and epidemic disease, we cannot guarantee a full refund in this case. This is because payment will already have been made to finalize the arrangements and reservation.

ii. Cancellation of the Tour by Consumer:

Any cancellation must be made by sending an email to the local agent. The cancellation fee varies according to how many days prior to departure the cancellation is made:

   ·  More than 30 days prior to departure: 5% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 30 and 22 days prior to departure: 25% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 21 and 8 days prior to departure: 50% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 7 and 3 days prior to departure: 75% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Less than 3 days prior to departure and after the departure date: 100% of the total holiday cost

All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective upon receipt by CAT. No refund will be made to those participants who break the journey regardless of the portions of the package unused. If, owing to serious illness or injury, the participant withdraws from the tour, a refund will be subject to the consent of the local travel agent.

No refund will be made to those participants who have failed to secure valid travel documents such as passport or visas.
