How to Access Google, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in China?

China has nationwide restrictions on accessing some foreign websites/internet. This is why the browser will show "This site can't be reached" even when the WiFi signal is strong.

Sites blocked in China:

1. Google, and all the Google services and apps like Gmail, YouTube, Google Play, Google Map, Google Translate, Google Bard, etc.

2. Social sharing sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

3. Instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Skype.

4. Online storing services like Dropbox and Evernotes, etc.

7. Some other sites or apps: Wikipedia, ChatGPT, etc.

We tend to use some domestic alternative sites while for foreigners it is really a serious issue. To access blocked sites in China, the most used and easiest way is using a VPN service. VPN stands for Virtual Private Network, is a type of software that is combined with a series of servers located around the world. There are many VPN services available, and we recommend consulting your computer or phone manufacturer, as different device systems may be compatible with different types of VPN.

VPN is very easy to use, just follow the simple steps below:

1. Select a right VPN provider, and obtain the purchase/download channel

2. Download the VPN app to your desktop or mobile devices.

3. Open the application, activate the service, select the connection type and your preferred server location, or let the application automatically choose for you.

4. After the VPN is connected you can leave the app in the background.
