TRIP OVERVIEW
This is a wonderful tour for Wildlife and nature expedition! A great fun for a family with kids!
This trip will start from Chengdu with lovely Panda. Then we will fly to Zhongdian at the Tibetan Plateau. We will partly follow the same trail that pilgrims take on their way to Mt. Kawagebo. The scenery on the way is breathtakingly beautiful. This hiking will take us to one of most beautiful area in China. The best season for visiting Mt.Kawagebo (6,740m/22,107ft) is in the fall when there are more clear days. The snow-capped Mountains, who's every peak is the subject of an enchanting tale. The glacier at the foot of the peak extends 11,000 feet downward to a surprisingly low level, seeming to plunge into the Lancang (Mekong) River. Tucked away at the foot of Mt. Kawagebo, one of Tibet's most sacred mountains, is the stunningly beautiful and isolated village of Yubeng. With the exception of the occasional mountain climbing expedition and Buddhists on a pilgrimage to the mountain and sacred waterfall a half-day's walk away, Yubeng is rarely visited by outsiders. The villagers' timeless way of life - herding yak, plowing the fields and fetching water from the nearby glacier stream - has changed little over the centuries.
The other highlight in this tour is the visit to the Cizhong Christian Church, the Golden Sunb-Nose Monkey nature reserve in Tachen, Danxia Landform in Liming (Optional tour for natural rock climbing is available. ) and the Old town of Lijiang. It is certainly a great tour for family and is guaranteed unforgettable.

Then drive 1.5 hours to Liming. Liming is featured by the red sandstone karst mountains landscape (Danxia Landform), where Lisu people inhabit the deep valleys. These beautiful layered peaks are some of the highest of their kind in China and are especially mystical because they are said to create the rising and falling of the sun 3 times in one day at certain times of year. This is actually caused by the angle of the earth and your view of the 3 peaks which block the sun throughout the day, hence creating 3 additional sun rises and 3 sets. We will visit a Lisu village on the way and take a 4 hours hike around the beautiful Danxia Landform. You might take off your shoes to feel the red sandstome during your hiking.
Yunnan Sunb-Nose (Golden) Monkey: Deep in the remote forests of southwestern China lives the rare and obscure Yunnan golden (or snub-nosed) monkey. Their human-like features have made them the subject of legends in China. But neither their elusiveness nor their human appearance has stopped them from becoming one of the most endangered primates on Earth. Habitat loss — including deforestation and the removal of dead trees — and illegal hunting have strained a species already struggling to survive in isolated and fragmented populations. There are now fewer than 2,000 Yunnan golden monkeys in the wild.

We usually leave dinner for your own choice — Western food can be found in most large cities.

But you may still think the food is simple and not as delicious as in the big cities especially while trekking in the mountains and villages. If you have any priority of the food (eg. If you are vegetarian or you are allergic to MSG, peanut oil, fish and peanut, etc) please inform us early, we will try to alternate the food accordingly. At the same time please prepare some of your favorite snacks and substitution food in case of need.
c) Meals in the home stays will be different from the cities but clean, which leave you a good chance to experience the ethnic minority culture. We will pack a breakfast for you of cold cereal, milk, toast, fruit, and jam for the home stay.
d) It is very important to drink a lot of water and eat enough fruit in your tour especially while trekking in the mountains and villages. You are advised not to drink tap water.

Hotels in China are bound by Government laws which mean that air conditioning is switched on nationally in May and the central heating in November (this may vary slightly depending on the region).
In some remote areas, sometimes shower maybe not available in the home stay. A married couple is not allowed to share a room in the Miao's home-stay due to the local customs.

Tipping is expected — though not compulsory — and shows an expression of satisfaction with the people who have assisted you on your tour. Recommendations for tipping drivers (3 USD per person per day as a guideline) and local guides (8 USD per person per day as a guideline) would depend on the quality and length of the service.
